How does the life of former victims of human trafficking look like in a safe-house? Who can help them build a new life? Do they even care to do so?
SYNOPSIS
Former victims of human trafficking are leading there lives in a safe-house operated by the Hungarian Baptist Aid. What kind of work is done in a safe-house? How can they help the residents in redirecting their lives? Is it possible to take a step back from the victim’s lives, or is emotional investment inevitable? How and why does someone dedicate their lives to helping women who fell victim to abuse and were forced into prostitution? Give Me Shelter is a documentary that searches the answers to these questions through the stories of the safe house’s leader, Renáta, and three former victims and their children, depicting their common day-to-day work in hopes of a better future.
